Celebration Europe

"From World War to Star Wars" is back at Star Wars Celebration to give fans a rare look into the real-world connections and in-universe parallels between the Second World War and the Star Wars universe. Join historian Cole Horton and Illustrator Chris Trevas for an exclusive presentation at Star Wars Celebration Europe in Essen, Germany this July 26-28, 2013. Star Wars fans and history buffs alike won't want to miss the panel that explores the historic sounds of the saga, how battlefields became filming locations, and why World War II relics became iconic parts of the Star Wars universe.

The Second World War not only changed the world in which we live; it shaped and defined the Star Wars universe we love. "From World War to Star Wars" explores the interesting and unexpected ways in which "a long time ago" influenced George Lucas' "galaxy far, far away."

A followup to 2012's Star Wars Celebration VI university class, this program at Star Wars Celebration Europe features all-new content and an audience Q&A. The program will be held in Hall Ruhr (Collectors Stage) on Sunday July 28th at 10:30.
